Mammoth Squid by Earl Grenville Killeen Acrylic on mounted linen, framed 31½" wide x 44" high |
Earl Grenville Killeen
is an accomplished artist, writer, and teacher. He's the author of The
North Light Book of Acrylic Painting Techniques, and his work has been
featured in many publications, including articles in The Artist's Magazine
and books such as Splash 3, showcasing "105 of America's Best
Contemporary Watercolorists." Earl's work in oil, acrylic,
watercolor, and pen-and-ink has received awards in many exhibitions and in The
Artist's Magazine Annual National Competition Issue, in which his
watercolor, "Pelican", took First Place in the Still Life category.
Earl has been a
generous donor to the Shoreline Arts Alliance. He contributed his
artistic and organizational skills to the Alliance during its early years, most
notably in founding the Future Choices Annual Juried Show for regional high
school students in 1987 and sponsoring the Best in Show Award during the show's
first twelve years. This year Earl has established a Founder's Award for
Future Choices, to benefit both a student and a teacher, and he has donated his
acrylic painting, "Mammoth Squid", to the Shoreline Arts Alliance for
our live auction to raise funds to support this organization and its
programs. If you choose to place the winning bid on this painting, you
will have the double joy of empowering the Alliance in its mission to enrich
our community as well as taking home a powerful work of art to enhance your
home or office.
The auction is part of
a fun evening at Water's Edge Resort to support arts education on the
Shoreline. Please join us for our Mardi Gras Gala 2017 with Eight to the
Bar on February 11.
