Villa Sonia's front door opens onto the gravel Chemin des Tontons, which is around the corner from Paradou's patisserie and a two-minute walk from the Bistrot du Paradou, renowned haunt of Charles Aznavour, Caroline of Monaco and other celebrities. The village sits at the foot of Les Alpilles, or 'little Alps', surrounded by a profusion of olive groves and vineyards. Nearby is the charming town of Maussane-les-Alpilles, as well as Les Baux-de-Provence, the famed hilltop medieval castle and village. Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Avignon, Arles and Aix-en-Provence, along with the wild horses of the Camargue and Mediterranean beaches, are short excursions away. The Aéroport de Marseille Provence, with easy connections to Europe and North America, is a 50 minute drive. The Avignon TGV station, a 2 hour 40 minute bullet train ride from Paris, is 30 minutes away by car.
