Happy Birthday America!

John Adams wrote the following to his wife after the Continental Congress proclaimed the American colonies independent of England. “The day will be most memorable in the history of America.  I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival.  It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, bonfires and illuminations (fireworks) from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”

As we approach our nation’s Independence Day holiday here are the local area fireworks displays that will be happening in the days and weeks to come.  Enjoy and celebrate the freedom that our forefathers fought so valiantly to obtain and pay homage to those men and women in armed services who continue to protect this freedom!
